This weekend I got a new baseball glove, my first in a long, long time. I took it out on the front lawn and started teaching my daughter how to throw. Very Normal Rockwell, and a lot of fun.
After the kids went to bed, I went outside and called my dad and one of my brothers on the phone. I threw the ball up in the air and caught it as the sun set and the stars came out while we talked: good stuff.
And when I tucked my daughter into bed, I asked whether we should both take our gloves to the Paw Sox game this Thursday. She told me to bring mine, because she planned to change her mind and leave hers in the car. Wha...?
