It is...alive!

A thin layer of brilliant green haze lays over most of the front yard as the grass starts to come it. It looks likes it's just rising out of the back yard, too, though more slowly. (Apparently, the thickest new grass gorws where the landscaper admits to having spilled some seed.)

He stopped by yesterday, since it's raining -- remnants of Hurricane Ophelia -- and praised our collective work to high heaven. The Mrs. thinks he's the cat's meow, and as soon as I have one, I'll post a picture.

Here's hoping the rain forecast for the next couple days doesn't wipe out his hard work.

Who needs TV when the landscaper in in town?

Here's what my boys look like when they're enthralled:

The World's nicest Landscaper says that the baby stood at the door all day, clutching a truck in his hand, watching:

Here, his big brother watches the crew in the yard.

And I was planning to spread out all of this out with a wheelbarrow and shovel? Mmm-hmm....

The waiting begins

So my yard is now a smooth, rolling, black carpet of fresh soil. There's little green flecks all over, but they're just fertilizer and not the grass I'm hoping for.

We have enough sprinklers and hose laid out for a five-alarm fire, but only enough water pressure to run one at a time. :7( Maybe after all this is over I should get someone to look at my pipes to see whether they're blocked up.
