Trip pictures

Someone asked about pictures from the August trip, so here are small versions that link to a larger image (if you like).

Here we see lessons being handed from generation to generation:

The lawnman cometh

Tomorrow, my next potential recommendable contractor will bring me a lawn. Go, Bill go! (So far I have a driveway guy I like, and I had a general I liked but I think he's completely retired now. Shame, too: he roofed and sided the house one year, and put on a deck another year. Nice work, too.)

Last night Bill Martell The Lawn Guy walked around the yard and I explained a few notes I'd written down. The yard's been lawn-less for two or three weeks, and he pointed out how grass is already coming back up. I *think* this is a good sign.

I haven't yet dared to ask whether all our hard work taking out the grass and raking out the rocks was actually the "hard part" (and thus saved us money) -- I'm afraid of what I'd hear.

I told The Mrs. that she needs to take pictures like I did when the driveway was put in, but we'll see if she comes through.
