Camping with the Cub Scouts
This was our first Cub Scout campout. While the whole pack spent the weekend, we only drove down Saturday morning after soccer ended. The drive to Camp Cachalot (at the back of Myles Standish State Forest in Carver, Mass. (near Plymouth), took a good hour.
We were too late for the hike, but there was plenty more to do: a scavenger hunt, a hour-plus of Capture The Flag (much of which was spent lawyering over the rules), and a lot of fishing.
Getting instructions for the scavenger hunt from Cub Master Jeff:

There was as much sumer color as fall color:

But as the afternoon wore on the reds and yellows came out:

The camp fire blazed all day in an effort to fight the wind that came in off the water without letup until darkness fell:

Here's the view from the lake back into the camp site. (This is the view the wind had!)

As the sun slipped away, one last cast:
