Some day she'll be mad about this

...but until then, we'll laugh and laugh.

Went to Boston

I was in Boston for a few days (Sunday June 22 to Wednesday June 25) for the 2008 USENIX conference. The event was held in the Sheraton hotel next to the Prudential tower. Lots of development down there since I left town! The fire station, however, is still where it's always been, and the trucks are still always left out into the street:

They had those two trucks pulled across the street much of the morning on Wednesday. When I drove up Sunday morning, one of the new guys was practicing controlling the giant ladder, and so all the cars had to go around the truck. But on a weekday?

Meanwhile, over in the Public Garden, the Swan Boats were out on a lovely summer day:

And the ducks we're all making way for still get tons of visitors:

Graduations and End of School

One finished his first year of "school," one finished Kindergarten, and one finished third grade. Whew! That was fast!

The sign says, "Last day of preschool! June 12, 2008"

The sign says, "Last day of third grade! June 23, 2008"

Let the summer begin!
