Lego mania

We got together a huge tub of loose Lego for the kids for Christmas. It took some time to get everything sorted and cleaned, but it was worth it. Heck, there were almost fifty people in there, to say nothing of the keels, train wheels, winches, windows, spaceship pieces, etc., etc. It was nerdy glory!

The kids have been building houses, trains, loaders & trucks, and lots of other things. The pieces were all pretty old (1980s, I think) so very useful and not too specialized. Man, want to go play with them now!

The Christmas lights

The strings of lights died, one after the other, until there was only one half of one string left. *sigh*

Katie gets a U of MN jacket

A coworker made this beautiful jacket & hat & jeans for Katie, the American Girl doll. It's the University of Minnesota logo, and looks as though it came from the campus bookstore!

Little Drummer Boy

He wanted a drum for Christmas, he got a drum for Christmas. He pounded it so fast and furious those first few days that no camera could have caught him without blurring.

Luckily, though, his interest waned quickly and we don't hear it very often now. But wow was he happy when he unwrapped it!

The Christmas box

Few things generate as much anticipation among the kids as Grammie & Grandpa's annual Christmas box. This was the youngest one's first Christmas -- and she seems to have grasped intuitively where the action is.
