Jaswells Farm and Touch-A-Truck Day, 9/30/2006
That Sunday morning it was nice and dry and sunny so we headed over to Jaswells Farm (www.jaswellsfarm.com) in Smithfield to give them some more money. Coincidentally, a branch of our credit union is right on the way, so we're always ripe for the plucking: pumpkins, apples, cider, the works. *sigh* It's like they can see us coming...

However, by afternoon it turned to rain. Again. But we didn't care 'cause there were TRUCKS!!!!
The local F.O.P. did a fund-raiser last Sunday where they filled a local park with earth-moving equipoment, emergency vehicles, a towed howitzer, dump trucks, bobcats, and anything they could get with a gross vehicle weight over 5000 lbs.
Sure, by the time we showed up it was 3/4 over, and some of the vehicles had left, but we also didn't get shaken down for a donation and the crowds (as we later found out) had evaporated, so I figure we came out ahead.
